Governor Heineman preparing to cut ribbon with group of children at Circle C Market in Cody on May 24th.

There was a large attendance at the opening of the Cody Grocery Store project on Friday, May 24th in Cody. Governor Dave Heineman opened the event with comments at the Adamson Community Building. The Governor stated that “education is the great equalizer” and praised the efforts of the school students and the community who supported the Circle C market. Scotty and Tammy Millard of Scotty's Ranchland Foods in Valentine were also recognized for their help and guidance in getting the store up and running. Governor Heineman made a purchase at the store to lead off the grand opening. He purchased Oreo cookies. There is also a small class room at the store to accommodate students learning more about how to run a small business.

The Valentine Economic Development Board assisted in moving the Cody Grocery Store from a dream to reality.
